Dallas/Fort Worth

I'm heading here for work on the 13th and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions of places to go or great restaurants I should hit up on my down time. Thanks!

Upandaway1, welcome to the community.  We look forward to seeing some great pictures and reading your stories.  They don’t have to be great, I know all of mine aren’t, just make them fun.

Barbecue is must.... Hard Eight is awesome (https://hardeightbbq.com/). Spring Creek is OK (https://springcreekbarbeque.com/). Ten50 is very good (http://ten50bbq.com/ ). Both Hard Eight and Spring Creek has several locations around the DFW.

If you'll be in the Fort Worth area, I highly highly recommend the secret downstairs speakeasy bar at Thompson's Bookstore. Amazing cocktails and a really fun vibe. Ask the upstairs bartender for the password.

Fort Worth also has Billy Bob's Honky Tonk (the world's largest honky tonk!) and the semi-cheesy Stockyards area if you want a true Texas experience.

I also went for work last year and found it to be a surprisingly fun, hip city. Enjoy your trip!
