The Olympics?! That's so cool!!
Watching an Opening Ceremony is on my bucket list. Maybe if the Olympics comes back to LA.
and they added sport climbing too. That'd be interesting to watching. Sport climbing is surprisingly very entertaining to watch.
I was in LA for the '84 Olympics but had to work every day so I didn't get to see any of the games. That was my first year on the job so I was one of the low men on the totem pole, not much luck at getting extra time off. We were assigned to athlete escort or shutting down the freeway on ramps as the bus loads of athletes went by.
gefe57, can't wait to hear about *how* you do it with points! My partner and I are always reading about how people do it but don't necessarily have the resources at the moment to do so. Looking forward to your 2020 travels!
As soon as it's all together after our trip I'll put the story together. We are sitting at almost $11,000 right now for our trip with Zero out of pocket. This is by far my greatest travel accomplishment, price wise, so far. I'm pretty excited.
Happy New Year All!
We're finishing up the wife's travel nurse contract here near Seattle, scrambling to see everything we can until we leave, then we're planning on a slow cross country return home via the California coast and the Southwest. Then off to Turkey in April for our 4th Workaway. We'll go from there to Dublin to see old friends, and back to Scotland to island hop the inner Hebrides which we didn't have time to see last fall. Planning on doing some extensive RV camping this fall as well. Busy year!
We're hoping to head to England in the late summer. I know that's not exactly exotic, but we have friends stationed over there so the timing works. I'm also totally obsessed with British history and can't wait to hit all the sights.
