I have a few charges that were categorized under "tourist" for tours. Wondering if they would qualify for travel statement credit. Does anyone know approximately how long after transaction posting would it appear in reward section if eligible fo travel reimbursement?
Very interesting. I have never noticed this classification before.
From what I have experienced all deductible expenses will be eligible for deduction as soon as they post. Thus, I am guessing that any expenses marked as tourist would not be eligible.
I will watch for this classification on my next trip. As long as I can deduct Hotels, rental cars, and airline tickets, I am happy.
Thanks, this was for Alcatraz boat ride in San Francisco. I thought since this was considered boat ride it would qualify but looks like it won't . I took earlier passenger boat ride last year on Victoria Clipper from Seattle to Victoria and that transaction qualified! Thanks
Hi @cdoobiest, Good question. I'll find out about the transaction posting duration. I have a feeling it is related to how the merchant processes transactions. Stay tuned for details. As far as knowing which transactions qualify as travel, it really depends on how the merchant is set up. If you have questions about a specific transaction, please call the number on the back of your card and a customer service representative can help answer any questions. Thanks again!
