Combining Charges to access award benefits?

Hi guys.

I just had a frustrating experience on Air China's webite (surprise surprise). Anyway, I was upgrading to extra legroom for 2 people for 2 flights, which cost about $269. However, they made me put the charges through in 4 separate transactions. I used my Barclay's card because I have a fair amount of points, but now none of the charges will be over $100. Any idea whether I might have luck calling to see if I can still try to do the statement credit? I figured it was a long shot, but if anyone knew you guys would know.

Thanks for your help.

In order to use your miles/points towards a statement credit for travel each transaction has to be a minimum of $100 (10,000 points).  Any smaller transactions are not eligible for statement credits, even if they are combined.

I guess it wouldn’t hurt to call Barclay and explain what happened.  They might allow it.
