My little sister just graduated from college and my gift to her is a wine tasting trip. I live in NYC and she lives in Denver. I was planning to take her to Napa but after the devastating fires last year I'm not sure how much there is to do/see? Do we think it would be worthwhile to visit (it was a top choice), or is it better to try someone else?
If not Napa, any other suggestions? Both nationally and internationally. We have roots from the Alsace, France region and have never been, and I thought that could also be an interesting option. Or the Pacific Northwest, possibly the Finger Lakes? We prefer mostly white wines/Sauvignon Blanc types.
Any input is much appreciated!
Sounds like Alsace would be a great option! I'm not familiar with Pacific NW wineries, but other white wine standouts for me have been elsewhere in the CA Central Coast (like the Carmel Valley near Monterey) and Stellenbosch, South Africa...
